Deemed surplus to requirements when Klopp first arrived; Joe Allen has now given his manager a selection headache with his standout performances getting him Shoot’s Player of the Month award for May.
The Welshman has worked his way back in to the Liverpool side as of late, as he aims to be in the heart of that Wales midfield at this summer’s Euro 2016.
Allen capped off an impressive final few weeks of the season by scoring one and assisting one for Roberto Firmino in the Reds’ 2-0 win at home to Watford, but a draw against West Brom a week later meant that European football won’t be coming to Anfield next term following an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.
With Jurgen Klopp sure to strengthen his squad over the summer, it will be interesting to see whether Allen is still part of the German’s plans for next year.
