Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is set to put pen to paper on a lucrative new deal at Goodison Park, however, it may not end speculation over his future on Merseyside.
According to reports from The Mirror, the Toffees’ all time Premier League top goal-scorer has agreed a deal with the club over a new £110,000-a-week deal.
However, said deal includes an exit clause which will allow the Belgium international to up and leave should one of Europe’s biggest clubs come calling.
The Mirror suggest this could mean any offers from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are likely to be considered, however, it will peak the interest of Lukaku’s former employers, Chelsea.
The 23-year-old has been persistently linked with a move back to Stamford Bridge ever since he left the club for the north west, and now the powers that be at the Bridge have chance to make their move.
The Belgian never scored a first team goal for the Blues, having made 15 appearances, but with 80 goals to his name from 155 outings in an Everton shirt, he would certainly make in impact back at his old stomping ground.
