Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire are the most high profile players to have been cut from England’s Euro 2024 squad.
Manager Gareth Southgate announced his final 26-man squad for the tournament in Germany on Thursday, with Maguire missing out through injury.
The centre-back has been a regular for his country at the past three major tournaments, but will not take part in Germany.
Goalkeeper James Trafford also misses out, along with Liverpool duo Jarrell Quansah and Curtis Jones.
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is another player to have been cut from the initial preliminary squad, as well as Tottenham Hotspur’s James Maddison.

Young midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Adah Wharton – of Manchester United and Crystal Palace respectively – have been included in the squad.
The latter only made his Premier League debut in January, and made his first appearance for his country against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday.
Southgate has also opted to select three strikers, namely Harry Kane, Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins.
Maguire’s presence will be a significant miss for England, with the Man United man almost certain to have started for the Three Lions if he was fully fit.

His Red Devils teammate, Luke Shaw, has also been left in the squad despite having not played since February due to injury.
