Manchester City face Championship side Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola’s side won no fewer than five trophies in 2023, capped off by their Club World Cup triumph in December.

City also win the FA Cup last season as part of a remarkable treble, alongside the Premier League title and the Champions League.

Guardiola will be hoping that his side can retain their cup title, and he will be confident of his chances of defeating the Terriers and progressing into the fourth round.

Ahead of the game, the Citizens are reportedly set to battle it out with one of their biggest rivals for a Premier League winger.

According to Football Insider, both City and Liverpool are monitoring Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

Olise has attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs

Both City and the Reds, as well as fellow Premier League giants Chelsea, are said to be keeping tabs on the Frenchman through regular scouting trips.

Olise, 22, signed for Palace from Football League side Reading back in 2021 and has since impressed for the London side.

In total he has made 80 appearances for the Eagles across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists.

Having missed the first 11 Premier League games of this season, Olise has been in sensational form since his return, netting five goals in nine matches.

The report claims that the former France Under-21 international is likely to command a huge fee if he is to leave Olise this year, with a summer move most likely.

During the most recent summer transfer window, Chelsea came close to signing Olise when they activated the player’s £35 million release clause.

The winger looked set for a move to Stamford Bridge, but he ultimately decided to stay put at Selhurst Park and signed a new long-term contract shortly after.
