Manchester City have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to sign West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell.

The Premier League giants, who currently sit third and eighth in the standings respectively, have both been thoroughly impressed by the left-back’s performances since arriving at the Boleyn Ground back in 2014.

The 26-year-old, who cost the Hammers around £3.75m from Ipswich Town, has scored one goal and assisted three further strikes in 23 appearances in all competitions for Slaven Bilic’s men this season.

Cresswell, who only signed a new five-year contract with West Ham back in June, was voted the Hammer’s Player of the Year during his debut campaign at the London outfit last term.
