Man City must let go of these two players in January

With the January transfer window fast approaching Man City will be searching the market for players who can add to their options for the second half of the season. However, they’ll need to make some room in the squad for these new additions by moving on some players this January.

Life has started reasonably well for City under Pep Guardiola. Whilst they haven’t torn up trees just yet they seem to be adapting well to the Spaniard’s drastic new methods and currently sit in 3rd place in the Premier League, having also qualified convincingly from a tricky Champions League group.

The Citizens have it all to play for during the second half of the campaign. They’ll be desperate to reclaim the Premier League title, having missed out in the previous two years. They’ll also be looking to at least match the semi-final Champions League appearance they made last term.

To help them with these goals the recruitment team will no doubt be working overtime to identify players who can add extra quality to the side in January. But they’ll need to make some room in their squad for potential new additions. With that said here’s TWO players we here at Shoot! reckon Liverpool should let go this January.

Bacary Sagna

At 33-years-of-age, Bacary Sagna is getting on a bit. He’s part of an ageing group of full-backs the club have at their disposal, an area that certainly needs freshening up.

Defence has always been the question mark surrounding Pep Guardiola’s side. The Citizens have only kept a quite frankly pathetic, three clean sheets in the 17 Premier League games they’ve played so far this campaign. There has to be a change somewhere.

Jesus Navas

The arrivals of Nolito and Sane have pushed Navas further down the pecking order at City. He has never been a truly convincing performer, and if City are to compete at the top of club football Navas can’t be playing.

We here at Shoot! have never seen an attacking player so afraid to take a pop at goal. Whenever he gets close to he looks for the pass, or just pelts a cross along the ground at 100mph. City need better to compete with the likes of Bayern, Barcelona and Madrid at the higher echelons of club football, and to chase down leaders Chelsea domestically.
