Manchester City have been offered an alternative to Brighton and Hove Albion’s Marc Cucurella, who may prove too expensive even for the Citizens.

As per I, the Premier League champions have been offered the chance to sign Benfica full-back Alejandro Grimaldo.

Pep Guardiola has been chasing Brighton’s Cucurella, but they have reportedly failed with their opening offer for the player and the move could now be in doubt.

City are keen to add a full-back to their squad having agreed to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.

Grimaldo has been offered to Manchester City

The Spaniard is valued at around £50 million by his current club, who are prepared to stand firm and demand a significant fee for a player that they signed just 12 months ago.

Now though, City could instead look to Grimaldo, who has been linked with English sides in the past.

The report claims that the 26-year-old has been offered to several Premier League clubs.

Grimaldo has impressed for Benfica over the past few seasons, providing 50 assists and scoring 19 goals in 246 games for the Portuguese side.
