Manchester City look set to lose a second star player to a Premier League rival, just days after Gabriel Jesus departed to join Arsenal.

The Brazilian looks set to be followed out of the door at The Etihad by Raheem Sterling, who is on the verge of completing a move to Chelsea, according to several reports.

City have already signed Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips and Julian Alvarez this summer, but will likely look for further reinforcements, especially if Nathan Ake follows Sterling to Chelsea, as has been heavily speculated.

Foden is set to sign a new long-term deal with City

Now though, the club look set to secure the long term future of one of their own talents, as Phil Foden is set to sign a new deal.

According to The Star, the Englishman will be rewarded with a new contract, which will give him a pay rise of around £50,000-per-week.

The 22-year-old was offered a deal worth £150,000-per-week six months ago, but opted to wait until the season had finished to discuss an extension.

The England international’s new deal will keep him at the club until 2028 and will make him one of the club’s higher earners.

Last season, Foden scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions, taking his tally to 45 goals in 167 games for the club.
