Man City were left stunned as Crystal Palace beat them 2-0 at the Etihad on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s star-studded side couldn’t find a way past a resolute Eagles defence as they fell to their second defeat in the Premier League this term.

Despite spending £100million on Jack Grealish and having the likes of Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres to choose from in forward areas, Gabriel Jesus is the only City player who has experience of being a regular centre-forward following the departure of record scorer Sergio Aguero.

But it’s reported that the Citizens could now look to bolster that area of their squad as, according Fichajes, the Premier League champions are tracking Nice star Amine Gouiri.

The 21-year-old has six goals in 11 games this term after scoring 16 times across all competitions during his debut campaign with the French club.

Gouiri has been prolific for Nice.

Gouiri also has an impressive goal record at youth international level having been a regular scorer for France from the Under-16s all the way through to the Under-21s.

The striker started his career at Lyon but signed for Nice in order to get more opportunities on the pitch in 2020.

That switched has certainly worked out for Gouiri so far, so much so that it could see him earn a move to one of Europe’s biggest powerhouses.
