Manchester City youngster Sam Edozie looks set to follow in the footsteps of former Citizens forward Jadon Sancho by leaving the Etihad for Germany.

Sancho, who now plays for City’s rivals Manchester United, left the club to join Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and spent four successful seasons with the Bundesliga outfit before returning to England last summer.

Now, Edozie looks set to become the latest English youngster to make the move to the Bundesliga as he is close to joining Bayer Leverkusen, according to Football Insider,

Edozie made his senior debut for Man City in last season’s Community Shield against Leicester City

The report claims that the two clubs have agreed a fee of £10 million for the 19-year-old, who plays in a similar position to Sancho.

Edozie will be hoping to recreate the success that Sancho enjoyed in Germany, as the England international scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 135 games for the Bundesliga side across all competitions.

The youngster has been a regular for City’s under-18s and under-23s sides over the past two seasons.
