Manchester United are back in action on Saturday when they host Sunderland.

Ruben Amorim’s side suffered yet another defeat in their last outing, this time at the hands of Brentford.

The Red Devils have won just two of their six Premier League matches so far this season, as well as suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of League Two side Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup last month.

Ahead of the visit of the Black Cats, it appears that United have are keeping tabs on a Premier League youngster who has been quietly impressing of late.

As per The Daily Briefing via CaughtOffside, Man United have added Brentford’s Yegor Yarmolyuk to their list of potential transfer targets.

The report claims that both United and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the Ukrainian, who has impressed for the Bees this term.

The 21-year-old joined Brentford from Ukrainian side Dnipro back in 2022 and has since established himself as a regular in the first team in West London.

In total he has now made more than 70 appearances for the Bees, but his impressive displays have caught the eye of several other clubs.

Aston Villa are also mentioned as potential candidates to sign the midfielder, while Serie A champions Napoli and German giants Borussia Dortmund are also credited with an interest.

Yarmolyuk is contracted to Brentford until the end of the 2030/31 campaign, but the report suggests that the West London side could face a battle to keep hold of the player beyond next summer.

It is claimed that United have put Yarmolyuk alongside Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton on their shortlist of midfield targets, while Tottenham boss Thomas Frank could give Spurs an advantage in the race to sign the player as the pair worked together at Brentford last term.
