Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona have reportedly been joined by Real Madrid in the race to sign £54 million-rated Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, according to Mundo Deportivo (in Spanish).

It is understood that the Premier League duo, and Barca, have already had offers for the Euro 2016 winner rejected this summer by the La Liga outfit, who are demanding €65 million (around £54 million) for the Portugal international.

Real are now ready to up their interest in the 22-year-old, and they could hold a slight advantage as their president, Florentino Perez, is said to be good friends with Valencia chairman Peter Lim.

To reduce the asking price, Los Blancos could also offer forward Jese Rodriguez as part of the deal, while Gomes’ arrival could signal the end for the likes of Isco and James Rodriguez at the Bernabeu.

Gomes, who appeared in all but two of his nation’s seven matches in France as they won their first-ever major tournament, made 41 appearances in all competitions for Valencia last season, scoring five goals.
