Manchester United face French side Lyon in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie on Thursday night.
The Red Devils fell behind before surrendering a late lead in the first leg, which finished 2-2 in France last week.
Ruben Amorim’s side have endured a tough season so far, most recently being beaten 4-1 by Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
United therefore sit 14th in the Premier League table, and will only qualify for next season’s Champions League if they win the Europa League.
This summer is set to be a busy one at Old Trafford, with Amorim likely to want to bolster his squad during the transfer window.
With that in mind, it has emerged that the Portuguese is keen to offload three first team stars this summer.
According to GiveMeSport, United could cash in on Alejandro Garnacho, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund during the upcoming transfer window.
The report claims that Amorim has made it clear that he wishes to upgrade his attacking options ahead of next season, and Hojlund and Garnacho have therefore been identified as expendable.
Garnacho, 20, has been one of United’s few impressive performers in the early stages of the current campaign, but his form has dipped significantly and the report claims that he could therefore be sold for just £39 million.
Hojlund, meanwhile, has struggled ever since joining United from Italian side Atalanta in 2023 and is another player that could be moved on in order to generate funds for new signings.
The striker has netted just eight times in 43 matches across all competitions so far this term, and United could choose to cash in on the Dane this summer.
Goalkeeper Onana was dropped for United’s visit to St. James’ Park last time out, and the report claims that Amorim is keen to upgrade his goalkeeping department with the signing of a new ‘keeper.
It is also claimed that United could look to sell forward Marcus Rashford this summer, regardless of whether Aston Villa take up the opportunity to make his loan move permanent at the end of the season.
