Man United outcast, Matteo Darmian is closing in on a January move to Italian giants, Inter Milan, according to reports from newspaper, Leggo (via Eurosport).

The Italy international, who was brought to Old Trafford by Louis Van Gaal from Torino last year, has fallen well down the pecking order in Manchester since the arrival of former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss, Jose Mourinho.

Inter are reportedly set to pay the Red Devils £0.9m to bring the 26-year-old in on loan before following that payment up with a £12.6m fee to make the move permanent.

However, despite the fact that the former AC Milan man is disastrously out-of-favour in Mourinho’s eyes, the Portuguese still appears to want more than the Serie A outfit are offering. According to the report, the Old Trafford hierarchy want closer to £16m for their man, who arrived for a fee of £15m.

If Inter refuse to pay the asking price then they may face competition from the Italian champions, Juventus, who are also rumoured to be interested in a deal.
