Manchester United defeated Italian side Fiorentina 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils unveiled new signing Benjamin Sesko in front of the crowd, with Ruben Amorim’s side coming from behind to send the tie to a penalty shootout.
United ran out 5-4 winners in the shootout, bringing an end to their pre-season campaign.
Arsenal visit Old Trafford on the opening weekend of the new season, before Amorim’s side travel to West London to face Fulham.
In the meantime, it has emerged that United are now considering a move to sign another forward.
According to CaughtOffside, the Manchester giants are considering a move to sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin as back-up for new signing Sesko.
It is claimed that United are exploring the possibility of adding the Englishman to Amorim’s squad, in order to bolster his attacking options.
Calvert-Lewin, 28, is a free agent after leaving Everton earlier this summer, ending a nine-year spell at Goodison Park.
During his time on Merseyside, the striker scored 71 goals in 273 games for the Toffees across all competitions.
West Ham United are also said to have shown interest in the player, while Newcastle United have held talks about a potential deal but discussions have stalled over the player’s salary demands.
The Magpies’ rivals, Sunderland, are said to currently be the most most eager in the race to land the 11-time England international.
Calvert-Lewin has also attracted interest from elsewhere, with sides in the Bundesliga, MLS, and Saudi Pro League all keeping tabs on the player.
It is claimed that Amorim is keen to bolster his squad and views the Englishman as a player capable of operating as a third or fourth-choice striker in his squad.
