Chelsea completed the signing of winger Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday.
The Blues had been busy once again during this summer’s window, with Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens among those to have arrived at Stamford Bridge.
Several players also departed the club, before Buonanotte joined Enzo Maresca’s squad on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.
The West London outfit have had an extremely high turnover of players since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake, and it appears that one of their fiercest rivals could attempt to lure one of their most talented players away from the club.
According to Miguel Delaney, Manchester United could make a move to sign Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia in January.
The Red Devils were linked with a move for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba over the summer and the report claims that, while they could reignite their interest in the player when the transfer window reopens in the new year, they could also move for Lavia.
The 21-year-old joined the Blues from Southampton back in 2023 but has been plagued by injuries ever since arriving in SW6.
In total he has played just 23 times for the club across all competitions, and he is yet to feature for Maresca’s side so far this term.
The Belgium international picked up an injury during the FIFA Club World Cup over the summer, although he is expected to return to action shortly after the international break.
Lavia is contracted to Chelsea until the end of the 2029/30 season having signed a long-term deal when joining the club, but it appears that one of their fiercest rivals could attempt to lure him away from the capital.
