Premier League giants Manchester United have joined the £100 million race for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe, according to The Sun.
The 18-year-old has announced himself on the world stage following a sensational campaign at the Stade Louis II, in which time he netted 15 goals and laid on eight assists in 29 Ligue 1 games to help Leonardo Jardim’s win the league title, taking his overall career tally to 27 goals in just 58 games.
And with six goals in their excellent run to the semi-finals of the Champions League, the teenage sensation looks set to go and become one of the best players in world football, and has thus attracted intense interest from some of the continent’s biggest club.
And with Real Madrid and Arsenal reportedly having had big-money bids rejected by the French outfit, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have now joined the race for the France international as they look to compete on domestic and European fronts in the coming years.
Mourinho’s men picked up two trophies this term, the League Cup and Europa League, the latter booking their spot in the Champions League next time round, yet their sixth place finish in the Premier League was a major disappointment, and something that has to be improved upon next term by Mourinho and his team.
And it appears that the Red Devils will attempt to regain their dominance at the top by a launching mega-money move for Mbappe, and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out for a sustained period of time, the £29.75 million-rated wonderkid (as per Transfermarkt) could be the man to lead the United line for many years to come.
