Manchester United will be firm favourites to reach the FA Cup final when they face Coventry City in the semi-final on Sunday.

The Red Devils face the Championship side at Wembley, with the winner to face either Chelsea or Manchester City in the final next month.

Last time out United were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth, piling the pressure on manager Erik ten Hag.

Speculation has been rife that the Dutchman could be sacked this summer, and The Manchester Evening News is now reporting that several of the club’s players expect him to do so.

The report claims that some United players are delaying decisions over their own futures due to the ongoing uncertainty over Ten Hag’s future.

Ten Hag took charge of the Red Devils in the summer of 2022, joining from Dutch side Ajax after impressing in Amsterdam.

Ten Hag faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford

Despite winning the Carabao Cup and reaching the FA Cup final in his first season in charge, Ten Hag’s side have been underwhelming this term.

United were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, making it almost certain that they will fail to qualify for Euorpe’s to club competition next term.

Their form has been particularly poor in recent months, with the club having won just once in their past seven Premier League games.

Speculation that Ten Hag could be dismissed has increased since Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS completed a partial takeover of the club in February.

In total, the former Ajax boss has won 38 of his 70 league games in charge of United, losing 21 including 12 defeats in 32 games this term.

The report claims that a number of the club’s senior players are convinced that Ten Hag will be sacked at the end of the current campaign.
