Manchester United are reportedly preparing an offer north of £60m for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller.
The German World Cup winner is thought to be keen on joining close friend and former club team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford.
And after missing out on Barcelona winger Pedro, who looks set to seal a move to Chelsea, the pressure is on the Red Devils to add a world-class player to their attacking ranks.
However, the Bundesliga champions’ chief executive, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said the 25-year-old is not for sale and that “he is a player that we cannot put a price on”.
Despite Bayern’s clear stance, United are still hoping their British record offer, and Muller’s desire to seek a new challenge, could force through the deal of the summer.
