Manchester United will face Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals of the Europa League after a dramatic win over Lyon on Thursday.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, United went ahead early on at Old Trafford through Manuel Ugarte, before Diogo Dalot doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.

Ruben Amorim’s side looked to be cruising into the last four of the competition, until two late goals from Corentin Tolisso and Nicolas Tagliafico sent the tie to extra time.

Lyon then went 4-2 ahead on the night courtesy of Rayan Cherki and Alexandre Lacazette, before Kobbie Mainoo pulled one back in the closing stages.

The tie looked to be heading for a penalty shoot out, before Harry Maguire – playing as a makeshift striker – headed the Red Devils in front and booked their place in the semis.

Away from the action, though, it has emerged that United have set an asking price for one of their struggling stars.

Hojlund could leave Old Trafford this summer

According to CaughtOffside, the Manchester outfit are willing to allow Rasmus Hojlund to leave Old Trafford for a fee of around £55 million this summer.

Hojlund, 22, joined United from Italian side Atalanta in 2023 but has since endured a torrid time, netting just 24 times in 87 matches across all competitions.

This term the Danish international has scored three times in 27 Premier League matches for Amorim’s side, and the report suggests that those in charge of the club are now willing to part ways with the striker this summer.

Serie A sides Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli are all said to be showing interest in the Dane, however United are keen to recoup as much as possible of the £72 million that they paid to sign him less than two years ago.

Hojlund’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 campaign.
