Man United should snap up these 2 Chelsea stars this summer

Manchester United will finish an underwhelming Premier League season against Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace on Sunday at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho’s men will finish sixth in the division regardless of their result against the Eagles, as well as the other results on the final day, yet their attentions are fully focused on Wednesday’s Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm.

The Red Devils have prioritised Europe’s secondary competition for much of the second half of the campaign, and with the reward of Champions League football for the winner, you can fully understand why.

Victory on Wednesday would also see Mourinho secure his second piece of silverware in just his first season as United boss, having already won the League Cup, yet Red Devils supporters will expect significantly more from their side next term under the Portuguese.

And that may require some big signings this summer to adhere to those expectations, and as a result Mourinho may look to raid one of his nearest rivals to get the talent needed to push for the Premier League title.

And one club he may look at is former employers and champions Chelsea, so here are TWO Blues stars United must try and land this summer…

Willian

Mourinho has been linked with a move for Willian for much of this season, and it’s a deal that could certainly happen this summer.

The Brazil international was Chelsea’s Player of the Season last term, but has fallen behind Eden Hazard and Pedro in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, earning just 14 Premier League starts thus far, and bagging seven goals.

And with the Blues reportedly willing to sell the 28-year-old, Mourinho and United should get a deal done, as Willian played some of his best football under the Portuguese during his stint in West London back in 2015.

Diego Costa

Much has been made of whether striker Diego Costa was one of the reasons why Mourinho lost his job at Chelsea back in December 2015, yet the Spaniard’s quotes prior to their clash with United last month were full of praise for the Portuguese.

Thus, with Costa looking likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic unlikely to extend his stay at Old Trafford, could Mourinho consider a move for the 28-year-old this summer?

The Chelsea forward has once again proven to be one of the best in the division with 20 goals in 34 games this term, with his spell of seven goals in eight games during the winter key in their charge to the title.

Yet it does appear that he will be on his way out of Chelsea this summer, he was of course dropped earlier in the season after reported interest from China, and if United are in need of a quality forward this summer, they could do worse than look at Costa.
