Man United should snap up these 2 Tottenham stars this summer

Manchester United will be playing Champions League football next season after beating Ajax 2-0 in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday.

Jose Mourinho’s men knew that victory in Stockholm last week would secure them a return to Europe’s elite competition, and goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan either side of half time sealed the Red Devils their second trophy of the campaign.

The Europa League adds to the League Cup title they won back in February, and although their Premier League adventure was disappointing – Mourinho’s men could muster a sixth place finish – the Portuguese boss will likely be satisfied with his debut season in the Old Trafford hotseat.

However, there’s little doubt that United will need to improve in the league next season, and qualifying for the Champions League is surely going to help them attract the top talent needed for them to be challenging for the title next term.

In fact, they may even look to raid some of their nearest rivals this summer, and one side they could look at is Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, so here are TWO Spurs stars United must try and land in the upcoming transfer window…

Kyle Walker

There has been much talk about Kyle Walker’s future at Tottenham in recent weeks, with it looking increasingly likely that he’ll leave White Hart Lane this summer.

And both Manchester clubs have been linked with the England star, yet it’s Mourinho’s United who need to get a deal done.

Although Antonio Valencia has been excellent for the Red Devils this season, Walker has improved drastically under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, and he is now considered one of the best right-backs in the league, be it in the natural full-back role or in a wing-back position.

Signing Walker would certainly bolster Mourinho’s squad at Old Trafford ahead of a crucial campaign next time round.

Eric Dier

Another Spurs player linked with a move away this summer, to United no less, is midfielder Eric Dier.

The England international made 48 appearances in all competitions for Pochettino’s side this term, yet only 16 of them came in his preferred central midfield role, with the majority coming in the centre of defence.

And this appears to have frustrated Dier at times this season, and thus he could be on the lookout for a move this summer.

And the central midfield role is something Mourinho could offer him at United, with Michael Carrick nearing the end of his career, and Marouane Fellaini not doing enough regularly to nail down a spot.

Dier alongside Ander Herrera and/or Paul Pogba could turn out to be an excellent midfield partnership, and thus Mourinho must look to land the Tottenham man this summer.
