Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

As reported by The Express, the Red Devils are still on the hunt for a central midfielder with it looking increasingly likely that they will miss out on Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.

That has lead United to Ecuador international Caicedo after a string of impressive performances on the south coast.

The 20-year-old started Brighton’s 2-1 win over United on the Premier League’s opening weekend, and has now made 12 appearances for the club since joining from Independiente del Valle in February 2021, having also spent a brief spell on loan at Belgian side Beerschot VA.

United’s need for further reinforcements was reiterated by their humiliation at the hands of Brentford on Saturday.

Ten Hag’s side were beaten 4-0 by The Bees and currently sit bottom of the table with zero points.

Arsenal are also credited with an interest in Caicedo, although neither club has yet made an official bid to Brighton for the young midfielder.

Juventus, Atletico Madrid, West Ham United and Bayer Leverkusen are also believed to be monitoring the player’s situation.
