World champions Argentina face Peru in their final group game of the Copa America on Sunday.

Lionel Scaloni’s side have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition after beating both Canada and Chile, but they will still be hoping to finish the group stage campaign with another win.

The winners of the 2022 World Cup are one of the favourites to win the tournament in the United States this summer.

Now, it appears that one of the Argentina squad has attracted interest from a club in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

Forward Alejandro Garnacho is a target for Pro League side Al-Hilal, according to Alkass TV Sports via The Express.

The report claims that Al-Hilal are weighing up a potential double swoop for Garnacho and Brazilian teammate Casemiro.

Garnacho, 19, joined the Red Devils from the youth academy of Atletico Madrid in 2020 and has since progressed into the first team at Old Trafford.

Garnacho enjoyed a fine individual season last term

Despite representing Argentina at international level, the player was actually born in the Spanish capital and joined Atletico’s academy as a youngster.

Since moving to England he has played 86 times across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and registering nine assists.

Last term the Argentine scored ten goals in 50 games for the club, including the opener as United defeated fierce rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Despite interest from the Middle East, it appears extremely unlikely that United would entertain offers for the player this summer.

Garnacho is currently contracted to Man United until the end of the 2027/28 season, which puts the club under very little pressure to sell him.

Veteran midfielder Casemiro, however, looks increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford this summer and will most likely move to Saudi.
