Man United manager, Jose Mourinho, has earmarked Real Madrid star, Isco, as a potential replacement for out-of-form captain, Wayne Rooney, but will face a fight from Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Tottenham for his services, according to reports from Spanish outlet, AS (via Metro).

The 24-year-old has found himself on the fringes of Madrid manager, Zinedine Zindane’s squad and may well be looking for a way out of the club over the next season.

According to the reports the former Chelsea boss is a big fan of the Spaniard, who arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu the same summer that the Portuguese left.

Red Devils captain has been under heavy scrutiny all season with unprecedented questions over his place in the squad being fired at him each week and, as a consequence, he has been benched for their last three consecutive games.

As well as the Real Madrid man, French superstar, Antoine Griezmann has also been mooted as a potential January addition at Old Trafford.
