Manchester United welcome Spanish side Athletic Bilbao to Old Trafford on Thursday for the second leg of their Europa League semi-final clash.
Ruben Amorim’s side cruised to a shock 3-0 win over Bilbao in the first leg in the Basque Country last week, with Casemiro on target before Bruno Fernandes netted twice.
That result came as a shock for many people, but United are now strong favourites to reach the final and could face Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the showpiece in Bilbao.
Fernandes has been arguably United’s most impressive performer so far this season, but the Portuguese has been linked clubs in Saudi Arabia.
According to TBR Football, however, United have no intention of allowing Fernandes to leave the club this summer.
The 30-year-old joined United from Sporting CP in January 2020 and has since establish himself as one of the most productive attacking midfielders in the English top flight.
In total he has played 285 times for the Red Devils across all competitions, scoring 98 goals and providing 85 assists.
It is claimed that, despite rumours linking the Portugal international with Saudi Arabia, United have no intention of selling the midfielder this summer.
Fernandes is under contract with United until the end of the 2026/27 season, and United plan on keeping hold of the midfielder beyond this summer.
Italian sides Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as German champions Bayern Munich, are also credited with an interest in the Portugal international, who has been capped 78 times by his country at senior level.
Amorim is said to be keen to have the final word on any outgoings at Old Trafford this summer, but those in charge of the club are said to be unanimous in the view that Fernandes is not for sale.
