Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech before the transfer window shuts, according to reports.

As reported by The Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils made an effort to hijack Timo Werner’s move to RB Leipzig, but were ultimately unable to do so and have now turned their attention to his former Blues teammate.

The report claims that Erik ten Hag is keen to add a new attacker to his squad and has identified the Moroccan as a potential target, having worked with him during his time at Ajax.

Ziyech is wanted by Manchester United

United had originally been interested in current Ajax winger Antony, but were priced out of the move by the Dutch side.

Ziyech joined Chelsea in 2020 but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Stamford Bridge.

In his two years in the capital, he has played 83 times, scoring 14 goals and providing ten assists.

Chelsea were believed to be open to the prospect of letting Ziyech leave prior to Werner’s departure, but it is not yet known whether that remains the case.
