Manchester United have reportedly agreed to let Spain international Victor Valdes leave Old Trafford on a free transfer in January.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who defeated Swansea City 2-1 at the weekend, are finally allowing the former FC Barcelona to end his nightmare spell at the club this month.

The 33-year-old, who joined the Red Devils from the Nou Camp last January, has made just two first-team appearances for Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils during his 12-month spell at the club.

Valdes, who won the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championships with Spain, reportedly refused to feature in a reserve game back in July and has been frozen out by manager Van Gaal ever since.

It is thought the likes of La Liga outfit Celta Vigo, plus Turkish giants Besiktas and Fenerbahce, are in the running to sign him later this month.
