Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a £25m move for Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

With Spain international David de Gea’s Old Trafford future still uncertain this summer after being continually linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is understood that have set aside the funds for his preferred replacement.

The 29-year-old, who has 64 international caps for Uruguay, kept 11 clean sheets in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish outfit last season.

After being left out of United’s opening Premier League victory against Tottenham last weekend, boss Van Gaal has stated that De Gea does not want to play against Aston Villa tonight.

Muslera, who played a key role in helping Galatasaray win the Super Lig title for a record 20th time last term, is thought to be the club’s first choice replacement shot stopper, despite the summer arrival of Sergio Romero.
