Manchester City: 3 crucial games in the Citizens’ Premier League run-in

Liverpool (A) – March 2

Just four days after these sides meet at Wembley for the Capital One Cup final, City will head down the M62 to do it all over again at Anfield. After a 4-1 humiliation earlier in the season, Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be seeking revenge, especially if the Reds win in the capital.

Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over Man City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month has left the Citizens six points adrift of leaders Leicester City.

Man Utd (H) – March 20

Five days after their Champions League last-16 second leg tie against Dynamo Kiev, Manchester City host arch-rivals Utd at the Etihad. Their nearest and dearest are currently six points worse off, and City would surely take delight in killing off any Champions League hopes for the Red Devils.

Chelsea (A) – April 16

If Manchester City are to ghost back into title contention despite being six points behind leaders Leicester, then a victory at Stamford Bridge is practically a must. In one of Manuel Pellegrini’s remaining league fixtures in charge of City, a win against his own biggest title competitors is surely on his wish list.
