Manchester City are reportedly closing in on a £40m deal to sign Germany international forward Leroy Sane this summer, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Premier League club, who finished fourth in the English top-flight standings last term after pipping arch rivals Manchester United to the final Champions League spot on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign, have been continually linked with a move for the highly-rated Schalke winger.
The 20-year-old, who has three international caps for his country and is currently with the Germany national squad in France for EURO 2016 this summer, scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.
Sane, who still has three years left on his current deal with the German side, could become new Citizens boss Pep Guardiola’s fourth signing at the Etihad Stadium following the arrivals of Ukraine international Oleksandr Zinchenko, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and Spain forward Nolito.
