Manchester City have completed the £37 million signing of Schalke midfielder Leroy Sane on a five-year deal.
The 20-year-old, who was part of the Germany side that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016 this summer, scored eight goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke last term, as they narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification by finishing fifth.
On completing his move to the Etihad, Sane said: “I think I will need a bit of time to start with because it’s another league and there’s a different style of play, but I think I can adapt very quickly.”
The forward becomes Pep Guardiola’s third major signing since the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager officially took the reins at City last month, following in the footsteps of Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, and Nolito from Celta Vigo, as the club look to improve on a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
