Manchester City are reportedly keen on sealing a summer deal for Germany international starlet Leroy Sane, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Premier League side, who finished fourth in the English top-flight standings after pipping rivals Manchester United to the final Champions League spot, have been continually linked with a move for the highly-rated Schalke forward ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.
The 20-year-old, who has four international caps for his country and featured for Germany at EURO 2016 this summer in France, scored nine goals and assisted seven times in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.
Sane, who is deemed the brightest prospect in German football, remains a priority transfer target for the Citizens – despite a change of manager, with Pep Guardiola replacing Manuel Pellegrini at the helm.
The report suggests that City are keen on wrapping up a swift £40m deal for the young forward following Germany’s exit in the European Championships to hosts France on Thursday night.
