Manchester City have reportedly made Germany international midfielder Toni Kroos their top transfer target this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Premier League side, who finished fourth in the English top-flight this term to narrowly secure Champions League football later this year, are set to try and lure the Real Madrid star to the Etihad Stadium once incoming boss Pep Guardiola starts his player recruitment process.
The 26-year-old, who has 64 international caps for his country and helped Germany lift the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil almost two years ago, scored one goal and provided 13 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants this season.
Kroos, who featured for Madrid in Saturday night’s Champions League final victory over rivals Atletico Madrid, is said to be valued at around £37.5m at the Bernabeu.
The German ace still has four years remaining on his current deal, and has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United from the Premier League.
