Chelsea are reportedly considering reigniting their interest in signing Germany international defender Antonio Rudiger, according to the Evening Standard.
The Premier League side, who recorded their fifth successive league win at the weekend following their 5-0 thrashing of Everton to move up to second in the English top-flight table, have been continually linked with a move for the AS Roma centre-back.
The 23-year-old, who has 11 international caps for his country, but missed Germany’s Euro 2016 campaign in France this summer through injury, has scored one goal in five appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.
Rudiger, who began his professional career at Bundesliga side Stuttgart, was attracting interest from The Blues prior to this summer’s transfer window, until the defender suffered a serious knee injury and wiped out any chance of the club signing the centre-back.
However, the report adds that Premier League rivals Manchester United are also interested in the German star’s services.
