Manchester United and Tottenham keeping tabs on 22-year-old goalkeeper

Manchester United and Tottenham are reportedly monitoring England international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s development, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The Premier League duo, who currently sit sixth and fifth in the English top-flight standings respectively after their opening 11 league games, have been impressed with the Sunderland shot stopper’s displays so far this term.

The 22-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut for the Three Lions, but is in the squad to face Spain tonight at Wembley Stadium, has kept one clean sheet in 13 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats so far this season.

However, that statistic does not serve the ‘keeper’s performances so far this campaign justice, as he was outstanding in Sunderland’s 1-0 defeat to the hands of Spurs back in September at White Hart Lane.

Pickford, who has enjoyed loan spells at the likes of Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Bradford City and Preston North End, is attracting interest from United and Tottenham after claiming the number one jersey at the Stadium of Light and forcing his way into the England set-up.
