Manchester United have reportedly held talks to sign France youth international striker Moussa Dembele, according to L’Equipe (via Sports Mole).
The Premier League side, who fell to a surprising 1-0 defeat to FC Basel in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, have been linked with the in-form Celtic forward.
The 21-year-old, who has featured 10 times for France’s Under-21 side, including 10 goals, has netted seven goals and provided three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the defending Scottish Premiership champions this season.
Dembele, who joined Brendan Rodgers’ side back in June 2016 following his transfer from EFL Championship side Fulham, has scored 39 times in just 63 senior games for the Scottish giants.
The Frenchman’s prolific form for Celtic has seemingly impressed Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, with the reports suggesting United have approached the club about a potential deal to bring the forward to Old Trafford next summer ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
