Manchester United are joined by Atletico Madrid in race to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Spanish newspaper AS

Denmark international Eriksen has been surrounded by transfer speculation all summer, and with his contract up at Spurs next July, other clubs remain interested.

Spanish newspaper AS have revealed that La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have thrown their hat in the ring wanting Eriksen to join the star-heavy squad they are assembling.

Joao Felix was the biggest name to join Atletico Madrid this summer.

However, they will have to compete with Manchester United, who, according to reports are willing to pay a fee for Eriksen in January in attempt to beat the competition.

Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013 and has gone on to be one of the club’s best players, a constant creative spark in the team who has chipped in with 67 goals and 86 assists for the North London side in all competitions.
