Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make three ruthless decisions on selling players to make way for other signings, according to Manchester Evening News

The Norwegian boss has been rightly praised for his dealings in the transfer market since stepping up to the hot seat at Old Trafford back in December 2018.

However, now it seems he will have to show the same levels in letting players go as United’s squad continues to grow in numbers ahead of next season.

There are many players who do not get regular game time for the Red Devils, but it’s a juggling act between maintaining a strong competitive squad and keeping players happy.

Local news outlet Manchester Evening News has hinted that Solskjaer is ready to be ruthless and sell three United players, some of which continue to be very popular amongst the fans.

Juan Mata

Mata is a popular figure at Old Trafford and has been ever since his arrival from Chelsea under then manager David Moyes. The Spaniard does not play as much football as he would like, but many United fans will hope to still see him in the squad next campaign. The playmaker can still come into a game and influence things from an attacking perspective.

Jesse Lingard

Lingard’s career has been one of ups and downs at his boyhood club. Rewind two years and United’s number 14 was one of their most influential players and was starting games for England in the World Cup Finals. Unfortunately for the attacking player, he now struggles to get on the pitch in the important games for United and Solskjaer could decide now is the time to sell his once prized asset.

Andreas Pereira

Unlike the two attack-minded players already mentioned, Pereira is seen more as a box-to-box midfielder and a player that can dictate the pace of a game. Many fans will feel the Brazilian has received a fair crack of the whip in terms of game time and is not quite good enough to continue in this team as United look to challenge for major trophies once again.
