Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is willing to swap Paul Pogba with one of five Juventus stars this summer

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is willing to swap Paul Pogba with one of five Juventus stars this summer, according to Tuttosport.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding United midfielder Pogba all season long, and even more so giving his lack of playing time due to injury.

With just over 12 months left on his current contract, Woodward will be keen not to lose the World Cup winner on a free, just like the club did when they lost Pogba first time round.

However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there is a thought that many clubs won’t be willing to pay big fees for top players, so a potential swap deal (plus cash) with Pogba’s former employers Juventus is being touted by Tuttosport.

Here are the five players Ed Woodward is willing to take to Old Trafford with Pogba going the other way…

Douglas Costa

The flying right winger is very experienced at the top level having played for both Bayern Munich and Juventus and starred in many Champions League games. Costa would be a shred acquisition for United, who have plenty of cover on the left but have struggled on the right this season.

Miralem Pjanic

Another experienced campaigner who has spent nine years in the Serie A with both AS Roma and now Juventus. The midfielder would bring a level of calmness to Old Trafford and is a versatile player. At the age of 30 though, United will be concerned about how many years left he has playing at the top level.

Alex Sandro

Sandro was heavily linked to United in each of the last two seasons, but now it might not be the biggest priority for Woodward and manager Solskjaer. Despite the Brazilian’s obvious talents, Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams have been steady performers for United this season.

Aaron Ramsey

Signed for Juventus from Arsenal last summer on mega wages, but it hasn’t quite happened for the Welsh international. There is plenty of competition at Juventus in midfield and Ramsey has not played as much football as he would have hoped. United know they will be getting a proven Premier League midfielder who can chip in with goals too.

Adrien Rabiot

Another midfield player the Old Lady managed to pick up on a free transfer, this time from French giants Paris Saint Germain. Rabiot is very skilled on the ball and likes to dictate play. However, being a France international is one of the only things Rabiot has in common with Pogba as their styles of play are very different.
