Manchester United are reportedly close to sealing a world-record £105m deal to re-sign France international star Paul Pogba, according to The Sun.
The Premier League side, who visit AFC Bournemouth during the opening weekend of the new 2016/17 English top-flight campaign on August 14, have been continually linked with a move to lure the Juventus midfielder back to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old, who has 38 international caps for his country and helped France reach the EURO 2016 final this summer in his homeland before losing out to Portugal, scored 10 goals and provided 16 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A champions last season.
However Pogba, who left Old Trafford back in 2012 after rejecting a new deal, is also understood to be attracting interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid as well.
But the report suggests that a deal to bring back the Frenchman to Manchester is almost done, with the central attacking midfielder set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal at The Theatre of Dreams, where he’ll earn a whopping £202,000-a-week.
United are understood to be delaying announcing their squad numbers for the forthcoming term until they wrap up Pogba’s transfer, to avoid any errors or confusion concerning the club’s replica shirt sales.
