Manchester United are reportedly set to sign England Under-20 international starlet George Hirst, according to the Mirror.
The Premier League side, who terrifically came from two goals down to defeat arch rivals Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening, have been strongly linked with luring the highly rated Sheffield Wednesday striker to Old Trafford this summer.
The 19-year-old, who has featured five times for the Young Lions’ Under-20 side, has broken into the Championship club’s first-team ranks this season, making two senior appearances for the side.
Hirst, who made his debut against Cambridge United in the EFL Cup back in August, is the son of former Owls legend David.

The report claims Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is closing in on a deal to recruit the talented youngster for the 2018-19 campaign, with Wednesday due compensation for the player’s services.
Hirst has already refused to put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Hillsborough, and was widely tipped to join Leicester City last summer, although fellow Premier League sides Everton and Newcastle United are now also thought to be interested in the forward too.
