Manchester United expecting more departures with Matteo Darmian set for Italy return, according to the Mirror

With the shock news coming out yesterday regarding fellow United defender Chris Smalling joining AS Roma on loan, it seems there could be more departures out of Old Trafford ahead of the European transfer deadline.

Full back Darmian could be the latest out the revolving door on the red side of Manchester, with reports suggesting he could return to Italy.

Chris Smalling could also be moving to Italy, but the deal is unlikely to be permanent.

The Mirror report of a host of Serie A clubs are interested in acquiring the Italy international, with Parma the latest club to throw their hat in the ring.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer and has the experience of Ashley Young, so it seems there will be limited opportunities for the 29-year-old.

The industrious defender joined the Red Devils from Torino four years ago and has gone on to win two major honours for the club and make 92 appearances.
