Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, according to Goal France, via the Daily Express.

Jose Mourinho is keen bring in a central midfield player to the club this summer having already signed defender Eric Bailly and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and has been linked with a move for Matuidi’s France team-mate, Paul Pogba.

But with the Juventus star rumoured to be worth what would be a world-record fee of £100 million, the Portuguese boss could opt for the 29-year-old PSG man, who is understood to have been granted permission by Didier Deschamps to leave Les Bleus’ training camp to fly to England for talks with the Red Devils.

The Frenchman, whose agent Mino Raiola has already overseen Ibrahimovic’s move to Old Trafford earlier in the summer, has made 237 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 champions since joining them from Saint-Etienne in 2011, scoring 26 goals.
