Manchester United join Manchester City in the race to sign Spurs star Kyle Walker

Manchester United are reportedly interested in luring England international defender Kyle Walker to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League side, who lost 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Sunday, have emerged as fresh potential suitors for the Tottenham Hotspur full-back ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 26-year-old, who has 25 international caps for the Three Lions, has provided six assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Walker, who arrived in North London back in July 2009 following his switch from League One champions Sheffield United, is understood to be valued at around £40m.

The report suggests Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is keen on landing the English full-back this summer, testing the player’s relationship with Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, after the Argentine dropped the defender in their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

However, arch rivals Manchester City are also said to be interested in Walker’s services.
