Manchester United have reportedly made an improved offer of £28m for Armenia international ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 13-time Premier League champions, who could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings last term, have been continually linked with a summer swoop for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.
The 27-year-old, who has 59 international caps for his country, scored a remarkable 23 goals and provided 32 assists in 52 appearances for the Bundesliga giants last season.
Mkhitaryan, who is valued at around the £31m mark by the German outfit, has already snubbed a new contract with Dortmund – with his current deal set to expire next summer.
The report suggests that the Red Devils have launched an improved £28m bid for the Armenian, plus add-ons, with new United boss Jose Mourinho desperate to land the attacking midfielder at Old Trafford.
Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the Borussia Dortmund star.
