Manchester United are reportedly lining up a move for Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler, according to Bild (In German).

The 22-year-old, who has started both of Germany’s matches at the 2016 European Championships in France, only moved to Wolfsburg for £25.5m from Bundesliga rivals Schalke last summer, but now new Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is ready to bring the midfielder, who can operate through the middle or on either flank, to England.

The former Chelsea boss is keen to strengthen a team that missed out on Champions League football by finishing fifth in the Premier League last term, and wants to boost an attack that scored just 49 goals in 38 league matches.

United will likely need to submit a huge offer if they are to have any chance of getting Draxler, who scored five goals and assisted on six occasions in the Bundesliga last season, with his club contract not set to run out until 2020.
