Manchester United line up swoop for Japanese striker

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto.

The 23-year-old has impressed in his first season in the Bundesliga, scoring seven times in 17 matches.

But despite having only signed for the German side back in the summer, the Red Devils are weighing up a £10m January bid.

Under-pressure boss Louis van Gaal is desperate to add more firepower to his squad, with his side having found the net just 14 times in their last 15 matches.
