Manchester United will have to offer £40m, plus defender Luke Shaw, to sign England international Danny Rose, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday in the FA Cup semi-finals, have been continually linked with a move for Spurs’ left-back this summer.

The 27-year-old, who has 16 international caps for the Three Lions, has made just 14 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham so far this season.

Rose, who joined the North London outfit back in July 2007 following his reported £1m switch from Championship side Leeds United, has scored 10 goals in 158 games overall for the club.

However, Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has retained a long-term interest in the Spurs full-back, who is contracted at Tottenham until June 2021, but lost his first-team spot to fellow defender Ben Davies this campaign.

The report claims United will have to offer Spurs around £40m, plus fellow full-back Shaw, 22, to stand any chance of luring Rose to Old Trafford this summer.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reluctant to sell Three Lions star Rose, but could be swayed into business if Shaw is offered as part of the deal, with the fellow England international playing 20 times in all competitions for United this season.
