Manchester United ‘offered the chance’ to sign Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Colombia international star James Rodriguez this summer, according to ESPN FC.

The Premier League side, who lost 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to the hands of Arsenal on Sunday, a result which leaves them four points adrift of the top-flight’s top four, have been continually linked with a mega money move for the Real Madrid midfielder once the current 2016-17 campaign concludes.

The 25-year-old, who has 54 international caps for his country, has scored 11 goals and provided 13 assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants so far this season.

Rodriguez, who arrived at the Bernabeu back in the summer of 2014 following his impressive performances at the FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil, netted twice in Zinedine Zidane’s side’s recent 4-0 league win over Granada, as Madrid sit level on points with league leaders FC Barcelona.

However, the report suggests United have been offered the chance to snap up the Colombia ace this summer, despite similar interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
